Hi Steve, Happy New year to you and your family also. I don't have any picture to offer so here is some text. Let me know if Jennifer and I can help in anyway. I know this year will be a great year for the West Coast Pipe Show. I was very impressed with the ’09 show. It looked to me as though all tables were sold, many with the very best USA, Canadian and a few international pipe artisans. I congratulate Steve and Marty for a well thought out show. For the first year for the West Coast Show I think the public turn out was very good, 2010 I know will be even better. I was very pleased with my pipe and pipe stand sales, my wife Jennifer and I met many new friends and added to our client base. I look forward to this years show, God willing, Jennifer and I will be there this year. So Steve, you can reserve the same table for me this year.

Regards,

Steve and Marty, I would like to let you know how impressed I was with the first West Coast Pipe Show. It felt like you guys had been doing the show for years. I heard so many positive comments form other pipe makers and vendors about the way the show was set up and marketed. For years I have personally felt we should have a pipe show in Las Vegas, what a venue! I was definitely excited about the show, actually could not wait for it all year.

Taking a cab from the airport to the Hotel, I had a "good feeling" when I saw a billboard, neon and lighting, in prime space on the main Freeway through town, announcing the pipe show at the Palace Station. That was impressive! To be sold out as you were with all tables full, for a first show, also says something for the marketing of the show and the excitement of Las Vegas. The smoking lounge right outside the door made it great for those wanting to partake or gather and chat and still be able to see all going on in the show floor.

This show, from the set up, to the silent auction, to the great Saturday Night Dinner and all the seminars left us all in amazement that it was "a first show". The walk-in activity was very good, business was great, and vendors attended of all interests, with many different pipemakers, Estate pipe sellers, and tobacco and accessory sellers. I have already booked my table and room for the Second annual 2010 West Coast pipe Show and I know it will only be better.

Thank you guys for negotiating for us to be able to have a show floor where we can smoke our pipes and even a lounge for smoking open 24 hours, in the showroom. This is advancement, progress and great news for our Pipe Smoking Brotherhood. Now we have a show on the east coast and one on the west coast where we can smoke! See you in November 2010.

Regards,
Bob Swanson

The first annual West Coast Pipe Show was a great success.  One never knows what to expect from a show in its infancy, but the promoters of the show created a robust and enjoyable experience for all who attended.  The hotel accommodations were reasonably priced and well appointed and Vegas' legendary restaurants were easily accessible.  Every table was filled with pipes for sale or collections on display, conversation was abundant, and show activities were helpful and interesting.  I will absolutely be attending the show again this year and would encourage anyone who might be on the fence to do the same.  You won't regret it.

I attended the 2009 Las Vegas Pipe Show in November and I was very glad I did.  My first thought about going was to attend a premier of a new show and thus be part of what a lot of us were very happy to see created.  We felt that a presence of a west coast show was needed especially in the face of other shows doing poorly and many of them being non smoking.  I had never been to LasVegas so that was an attraction.  Then knowing the show organizers, I was even more confident that this would be a good show.

I went as a pipe smoker to support the show and also went as a pipe carver, many knowing me as Kiess Pipes but as DR BOB PIPES at that show.  Seeing many venders there was a pleasant surprise knowing that they were there for the same reasons.  I really enjoyed mingling with these great people and learned a lot.  One of them was Steve O'Neill and his lovely wife.  Steve has a real passion for making this show outstanding and has a great deal of energy that drives that passion.  Also Marty Pulvers was there and he brought a great deal of expertise and his ever present level of wonderful intensity.  Those 2 guys pulled off a great show and I applaud them.  It was a great success for a first show.  The show room was fine with good lighting and plenty of room for vendors and general traffic.

The venue at Palace Station was fine with nice rooms and good food.  Then there was Las Vegas and I really enjoyed myself taking in the Vegas sights with my personal friends and "tour guides" Bob Swanson and Andy Camire.  I managed to loose only $5 on the machines!!

So the 2010 show will be even better as experience paves the way and the great leadership continues with Steve and Marty and Rick Newcombe.  I highly recommend this show for any one in the pipe world and especially those west coast folks who don't want to go so far to a show.  And this year we will be smoking in the show room.  Please come and support this great venue.
